Nnaji, a onetime Minister of Power, gave the assurance at the Osisioma, Aba office of the company on Friday in a meeting with some stakeholders.

“The tariff we are still going to use here is the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) approved tariff.

“There is what is called service level; if you are getting power above 18 hours which our own will certainly be more than that, then there is a certain tariff you are going to pay.

“We are not going to go above regulation. Geometric’s presence in Aba is not about money but about putting the people on the path of progress,” he said.

Nnaji approved the call by some stakeholders to make the company’s customer forum constant to ensure they build better relations.

Patrick Umeh, the Managing Director, Aba Power Ltd, the distribution arm of Geometric Power Ltd, said that the company had plans to ensure its supply of power in Aba was improved and constant.

He said the company would use a loop-system of connecting its customers such that if their power supply was bridged from one end, they would get supply from another end.

Umeh said the company had applied through a Power Purchase Agreement with Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) for 100 MW to ensure constant power supply to Aba pending commencement of power generation by its plants.

He called for partnership between the company’s customers and the power company to check fraud by company’s personnel and infrastructure vandalism which negatively affected power supply services.

He promised to give customers satisfactory service with their cooperation and support.

Mr Ken Anyanwu, Secretary, Association of Leather/Allied Industrialists of Nigeria (ALAIN) assured the management of Geometric that they would protect its infrastructure and grow its customer base if given better services.

Some other stakeholders who spoke, urged the company to improve its customer relations and to fortify its security network as well as make its customer forum constant to build better relations.

Geometric Power Ltd is a pioneer power project developer in Nigeria with a 20 year concession from the Federal Government to supply power exclusively to Aba commercial city.
