State Commissioner for Commerce, Alhaji Barma Shettima, stated in Damaturu on Saturday and said financial implication of the project had not been determined.

Barma said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the project was on June 9 signed by him, on behalf of government, and Mr Galal Ghor, who represented the company.

“ Following successful negotiations and determination of mutually beneficial terms and conditions, Yobe government signs MoU with Los Amigos Company of Egypt for the establishment of Meat Processing Factory.

“ Substance of the MoU indicates that the project will be executed and operated on the basis of Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the State government and Los Amigos – the technical partner,” Barma said.

The commissioner said the project was part of Gov Mai Mala Buni’s drive to boost trade and commerce in the state and create jobs opportunities for its teeming youths.

Buni had earlier revived Polythene and Wooven Sack Industry, Damaturu, Aluminium Industry, Potiskum, and Flour Mills also in Potiskum.
