Obadimu said in Lagos via a report from a courtesy visit to the Dangote Fertilizer plant at Ibeju Lekki area.

He stated that the project would also ensure food security and create massive employment opportunities for Nigerians and other Africans directly and indirectly.

“The basic objective of the visit is to appreciate the positive impact of the project and Dangote Group, by extension, on the Nigerian economy and also assure them of NACCIMA’s support whenever the need may arise.

“Initiating this largest granulated urea fertiliser plant project in Africa will go a long way in boosting agricultural development no doubt.

“This will impact Nigeria’s trade capacity when it comes to agriculture and shore up the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from that angle.

“Dangote Group must be lauded for its very significant contribution to the growth of the Nigerian economy,” he said.

Mr Vishwajit Sinha, Managing Director, Dangote Fertiliser Limited, lauded the NACCIMA team for the chamber’s unwavering support to driving the country’s industrialisation agenda.

He reiterated the company’s commitment to enhancing a dynamic agricultural sector for the country in line with Environmental Sustainability and Governance (ESG) models.

The high point of the event was a tree-planting/greening ceremony.
