Chinese stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.19 per cent to 2,979.79 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.53 per cent higher at 10,577.81 points.
The turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 563.8 billion yuan (about 79 billion dollars), down from 628 billion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to wind power, auto parts and photovoltaic industry led the gains.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China’s Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.15 per cent to close at 2,261.89 points Tuesday.
