Some of the motorist said that the increase affected them negatively as their daily turnover had reduced.

A tricycle operator, Mr Akpan Udoh said that he usually buy fuel at N184 which is government approved pump price but was shocked when they sold fuel to him at N210 per litre.

“ I don’t know where this country is heading to, a country that produces petroleum products, but cannot make them available for its citizen.

“As the price has gone up, we still charge our customers the same fare we used to collect and this is affecting our daily revenue.

“Most of us are not the owner of the tricycle and after making account to the owner, we are left with nothing,” he said.

The tricycle driver urged the government as a matter of urgency to find lasting solution to the scarcity of fuel in the country.

Another motorist, Mr Kenneth Okpara said he had been on queue at the NNPC filling station since 6am and was unable to buy up to 3pm, adding that they were informed that they do not sell again.

Okpara lamented that Enugu state is a civil servants state noting that people are finding it difficult to cope with the challenge.
