This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by Mr Ifeanyi Oputa, Director-General of NASSI Secretariat.

“In compliance with NASSI’s constitution, the following had been elected national executive council members at the 34th National convection and election held on Jan. 16, 2023, for the next four years.

“They are Chief (DR) Solomon Vongfa, National President, Dr Rhoda Idakula, National Vice President, and Mr. Adeyemi Samuel, National Vice President.

“Others are Alhaji Muhammed Shehu, National Vice President, Elder Emenike Onu, National Vice President, Mr Kuti-George Tayo, National Vice President, and Mr Anthony John Akpan, National Vice President, Dr Abubakar Bala, National treasurer, and Akobundu Nwabueze, National Public Relations Officer,” Oputa said.

Oputa requested NASSI’s partners and the public to accord the officials usual recognition to enable them champion the small- and medium-industries agenda for inclusive socio-economic development and Nigeria’s industrialisation process.

In his post-election speech, the National President, Vongfa, commended members for electing them and said that the trust and confidence reposed in them would not be in vain.

According to him, the exco would do anything possible to sustain and ensure the growth of the association.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that NASSI, during its 34the National Convention, commended the Federal Government for the support in growing the industrial sector.

Vongfa, however, urged the Federal Government not to relent in its efforts in providing infrastructure and support needed to promote the growth and development of small-scale, cottage and medium industries and industrialists in Nigeria.
