Ms Cordelia Ekeocha, Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications Group, Cornerstone insurance, said this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.

Ekeocha said that under the terms of the agreement, passengers booking on Bus54 and platform would be covered by travel insurance from cornerstone.

She explained that the partnership seeks to provide a seamless travel experience for passengers, by offering them the assurance and protection they need while traveling.

The spokesperson said that passengers travelling on the bus platform would now have access to insurance coverage as part of their bookings, to give them peace of mind while embarking on a journey.

Commenting, Mr Ezra Anajonu, Co-founder/Chief Executive Officer, Bus54, said that the insurance product covers accident medical treatment, theft of checked-in personal effects and transport of mortal remains, in the event of a fatal accident during a journey.

Ezra stated that the policy also included an additional life insurance payment to the family of the passenger.

“We are excited to partner with Cornerstone Insurance to provide our passengers with the travel insurance coverage.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to enhance the travel experience of our passengers by providing them with innovative solutions that ensures their safety and convenience,” he said.

Also reacting, Mr Stephen Alangbo, Executive Director Technical, Cornerstone Insurance Plc, expressed delight to the partnership between the insurer and Bus54.

He expressed optimism that the partnership would enable both firms to extend their services to more Nigerians and support the growth of the transportation industry in the country.

“This partnership is a significant step towards creating a safer and more convenient travel experience for Nigerians.

“Bus54 and Cornerstone Insurance Plc are committed to ensuring that passengers have access to innovative solutions that provides them with the assurance and protection they need while traveling,” Alangbo said.

Bus54 is a mobility technology company which provides a platform to aggregate intercity bus transportation in Africa, allowing passengers to search, compare, book and manage their journeys online.

Cornerstone Insurance Plc was licensed and re-certified by the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) for General and Life businesses.
