This is contained in a statement by Alhaji Nura Kangiwa, Director-General of National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), issued in Abuja on Wednesday and signed by the Institute’s Public Relation Officer, Mr Joesef Karim.

The event is with the theme: Around the World in a Day is scheduled to hold on Nov. 25.

The seven countries through their Embassies in Nigeria, have confirmed their participation. They are Cote D’ivoire, Malaysia, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Ghana, Trinidad & Tobago, and Morocco.

Kangiwa said the event was in collaboration with CMD Tourism & Trade Enterprises.

He said the programme was aimed at promoting tourism destination in the world.

Ms Mambo Cecile, Managing Director, CMD Tourism & Trade Enterprises said the idea of CMD Food Tour was borne during the COVID-19 emergence.

According to her, the fifth edition of the food tour will be special in so many ways. There will be food exhibition and workshops for local produce farmers and inbound tour operators.

“We want to give stakeholders opportunity to showcase their tourism attractions and most especially their culture to promote cultural exchange.

“It will bring a deeper sense of acceptance and inclusion to make tourism product offerings better, while preserving the heritage and authenticity of destinations.
“Participants will gain new business insights, network and synergise with international travel brands,” she said .

Mambo said when the event started in 2021, it was limited to West African Food Tour, with the feedback from participants; we went ahead and did the CMD Caribbean Food Tour in 2022.

“CMD East Africa Food Tour earlier in 2023 did their fourth edition, which is a foods journey through Africa, the Caribbean and the Silk Road.

“We are excited that NIHOTOUR is collaborating with us in this fifth edition of CMD Food Tour,” she added.
