The company also said that it would begin the rehabilitation of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system in its Benin transmission network from Friday to Sunday.

Mrs Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager Public Affairs said this in a statement in Abuja on Thursday.

Mbah said that due to the installation, there would be power interruption for five hours from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. on the said days to create a safe working environment for the contractors.

“During the period, Benin Distribution Company will be unable to offtake power from the following feeders for onward distribution to its customers.
These areas include, Egor, 33 Kilo Volt (kV), Evbuotubu, 33kV; GRA, 11kV; Commercial, GRA 33kV; Ihama, 11kV; Ugbor, 11kV; Dumez, 11kV; Oluku, 33kV; Uwelu, 11kV; Iguosa, 11kV;, lyowa, 11kV, and Oluku 11kV feeders.

”We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause consumers that are supplied electricity by Benin Distribution Company from the affected feeders.”

Mbah said that the installation was a necessity as they would contribute to grid stability.
