Bandits kill 29 people in Nigeria’s Kaduna state

At least 30 children have been reported abducted by suspected
Eye witnesses report that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday at Kasai Village in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to them, the children went outside the village to collect firewood for their families, but fell into the hands of the abductors.

“Yes, the attack occurred yesterday Monday in the morning hours. It all began when the children numbering up to 30 went behind the Kasai Village to secure firewood which their parents will use to cook food for them.

“Unfortunately, some suspected bandits intercepted them and took them to an unknown destination,” a resident said.

Official confirmation of the incident has not been issued by the local government officials nor security agencies in the state.

Meanwhile, there was also a report of bandits’ attack at a mosque in Gusau, Zamfara State capital also in the North West of the country on Monday night.

The suspected bandits were also reported to have abducted scores of worshippers during the Tahajjud congregational prayer.

Tahajjud prayer is a vigil normally held in the last 10 days of Ramadan.

An eye witness, who confirmed the attack, said he could not ascertain the exact number of the abducted Muslims.

The State Police is yet to confirm the incident.
