The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the flag-off of the dualization of sections two to four of the Ekpoma-Auchi-Okpella-Okene-Ajaokuta expressway.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Shadrach Sunday, TMV noted that the move has brought hope to motorists using the road linking Edo and Kogi states.

It said: “We note that the Minister of Works Senator Dave Umahi had, while flagging off the road project on behalf of President Tinubu, stated that the road construction was in line with the Tinubu administration’s commitment to “making roads across the country motorable”.

“We are of the view that with the flag off the dualization work, motorists moving to the western, eastern, and northern parts of the country would heave a sigh of relief. It will also enhance economic activities for residents of Kogi and Edo States living along the road corridor.

“We also want to remind Nigerians that this road project had been abandoned for several years since the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) years, despite huge capital allocations committed to it.

“We therefore commend the Works Minister for crystallizing the vision of President Tinubu through the construction of critical road infrastructure in the country.

“Over the years this road had been abandoned and became a source of inconvenience and frustration to road users, but finally the Tinubu administration is changing the narrative with emphasis on leaving a lasting legacy of quality roads.”

The group also urged Nigerians to continue to support the Tinubu administration in its efforts to rebuild the country’s road infrastructure.
