This follows the Federal Government’s plan to reconstruct 195,000 classrooms nationwide by 2027 as well as other initiatives aimed at repositioning the sector.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Ahmad Sajoh and Secretary Afolabi Josiah, the group said it underscores a strong commitment to not only addressing infrastructural deficits in the education system but also enhancing learning conditions for millions of students.

The statement read in part: “As outlined by the Education Minister Tunji Alausa during the third edition of the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing Session in Abuja, this visionary project will not only revamp existing educational infrastructure but will also significantly impact the quality of education across the country.

“The inclusion of 28,000 new toilets and 22,900 boreholes will improve hygiene and access to clean water in schools, while the construction of 7,000 new classrooms will cater to the increasing demand for educational spaces.

“TSF is particularly impressed by the government’s efforts to tackle the challenge of out-of-school children through strategic infrastructural improvements. The provision of 103 million textbooks further reinforces the administration’s dedication to foundational learning and educational excellence.

“Furthermore, TSF acknowledges the Federal Government’s investment in vocational training, a critical sector for skills development and economic empowerment.

“For us, President Tinubu’s approval of N120 billion as a startup for students’ entrepreneurial training mode exemplifies a forward-thinking approach to bridging the gap between education and employment.

“The revival of the National Library Project with a dedicated N40 billion commitment also demonstrates the administration’s resolve to bolster research, knowledge acquisition, and literacy development.

“As stakeholders in the vision for a greater Nigeria, TSF applauds these strategic interventions and reaffirms its unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s progressive policies.”

The group also expressed confidence that the initiatives will lay the foundation for a more robust, inclusive, and globally competitive education system.
