AKD, a subsidiary of PANA holding, is a leading provider of cutting-edge digital solutions that help businesses streamline their operations and make better decisions.

Akobo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of AKD said that Nigeria is bless with abundant natural resources but lack the needed connectivity and integration in spite various initiatives and development plans.

“We have all the initiatives, we have all the cash master plan, we have all that it will take, even within the offspring development. We have the development strategies in different papers but they are all disjointed.

“This partnership focuses on connectivity, transformation, and sustainability to address the critical need for integration and efficiency in the industry.

“The country needs that connectivity, retention, and actionable information.

“We want a solution where the typical Minister of State for Gas will be able to understand what is happening in the economy in the activities right in the industry.

“So we call it the fourth industrial revolution where this large production will need a digital solution where physical solutions will meet biological solution, “ Akobo said.

He said that the partnership would change the Nigeria oil and gas industry and beyond.

He described Aveva Digital as a potential partner with practical solutions that align with the current needs of the Nigerian market.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for his foresight in establishing the Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy.

On his part, Aveva Regional Head, Mr Shafe Dirisu, said that partnership was basically to enable Nigeria industrial sector to become digital champions, using the available resources, time and investments wisely.

Dirisu said that the collaboration aimed to deploy technology into the industry to address industrial challenges and the evil twins of climate change and poverty, presently facing the world.

“Those are the two evils. We feel very simply that Nigeria is best place to be able to challenge those two evils

“I think at the time when international companies are slowly divesting away and indigenous companies are effectively becoming the champions of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

“This is the perfect time for us. We are an African company. We are based in Africa, and we are for the development of African technology, African systems and very importantly African people.

“So we run a people based ecosystem, running technology in some of the most complex environments in the world, and we do it here on the African continent. We support the technology from an African continent.

“This partnership exemplifies what we are doing investing into an environment, investing into people, investing into companies working together, to be able to solve the biggest challenges that we see at the moment, “ Dirisu said.

The regional head who said that the partnership work which started since 2023 now officially commenced with immediate effect.
“We have set up some quarterly reviews on one end and of course there’s annual contract renewals” because there are so much of things to be done.

Also speaking, the Vice President AKD Digital Solutions Mr Ronak Patel, said that the collaboration would help to deliver value through technology, data refinement, and the application of artificial intelligence.

Patel added that the partnership would bring a digital refinery to Nigeria.

“Data is the new oil and unless it’s refined and harnessed in the right ways, it’s useless.

“So there’s plenty of data and information out there. The AVEVA solutions covers a whole breadth and depth of capability.

“So in a sense, what we’re aiming to do is take that information, convert it into useful data that can be harnessed in the right ways,” Patel said.
