The revelation was made in Benin as ex-militants from Edo State submitted themselves in support of the of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the September governorship election.

Mr Adams Oshiomhole, the backbone that heralded Obaseki into office in 2016 revealed in Benin City on July 23, 2020 when he addressed supporters of APC’s candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Oshiomhole, a two term governor of Edo is the former National Chairman of, APC.

Oshiomhole explained that the suit instituted by the PDP was struck out because the party filed it out of time and that APC has learnt from the mistake in Bayelsa state and decided to stick to the rules.

“PDP took Obaseki to the court that he forged certificate. Now, you remember one governor that said there are tax collectors when something moved, they collected the taxes and the certificates became okay.

“But let me tell you they know that the man who has forged documents even if you vote for him, you know what happened to us in Bayelsa; so I need to assure you that the decision of the screening committee to disqualify the sitting governor was based on the evidence provided by PDP which they found to be correct and you do not repeat the same mistake twice

“The only task we have is to go to every ward, every unit, every local government, and every community and remind them of where we stopped and ask them since we left what new thing has been brought?

Commenting on his travail as national chairman of the party, he said the seat of National Chairman does not belong to his father

Meanwhile, thousands of former militants from Edo State have queued behind Oshiomhole’s candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

They commended the empowerment plans outlined in the manifesto of the candidate of the All Progressives Congressand promised to support him in the Sept. 19 governorship election in the State.

They made this promise on Thursday in a meeting with the candidate in Benin City where they were led by a former militant Chief, General Don Ben.

Ben said the empowerment plans outlined in the SIMPLE agenda manifesto of Ize-Iyamu are reflective of their desires and if implemented, will engender peace and proper social integration across communities in Edo State.

He berated Obaseki for failing to fulfil his promises to the people, especially the Ijaws living in the creeks.
