The Director General, Zamfara State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Alhaji Lawal Muhammad, has been sacked.

The Public Relations Officer of the Chamber, Jamilu Ibrahim, made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Sunday.

According to the statement, the dismissal was decided at an emergency executive Council meeting of the Chamber which held in Gusau.

The meeting, chaired by President of the Chamber, Alhaji Bashar Ibrahim, also held deliberations on a Report of the Committee that investigated the allegations of gross misconduct and fraud leveled against the embattled Director General , who was eventually found culpable.

Ibrahim said the Executive Members therefore unanimously approved the immediate dismissal of the DG, Alhaji Lawal Muhammad, adding that the decision was taken in the best interest of the Chamber and Zamfara State as a whole.

The statement also warned that henceforth who ever transacts business with the dismissed DG in the name of ZACCIMA does it at their own peril.

The Executive Members of the Chamber have unanimously approved the appointment of Mansur Shehu as the new Director General of the Chamber, who until the appointment, was Deputy Director General of the Chamber. Shehu’s appointment is with immediate effect.
“The Chamber also endorsed its current president, Bashar Ibrahim, and all his Council Members whose tenure would expired in February, 2022, to automatically go for second term in line with the provisions of the organization constitution.
