Council seeks incentives to boost indigenous ship operations

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) on Thursday said nine ships had arrived at Lagos ports and were waiting to berth with general cargo, bulk sugar, bulk gypsum and containers.

According to NPA, 24 other ships were discharging bulk wheat, general cargo, fuel, container, bulk sugar, bulk salt, soya bean meal and frozen fish at the ports.

Meanwhile, 18 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected at the Lagos Port Complex from Feb. 10 to Feb. 22.

It indicated that the ships contained general cargo, bulk wheat, frozen fish, sugar, container and butane gas.
