The businessman also urged the state government to strengten collaboration with the private sector through infrastructure development so as to boost employment.

China made the call on Monday while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Correspondents’ Week, in Port Harcourt.

China who is Chief Executive Officer of Construction and Housing Mayor Limited, stressed the need for government to increase partnership with the media so as to promote positive reportage on the state.

Popularly known as ‘Mayor of Housing’, the real estate expert lamented incessant capital flight, unemployment and business drift from Port Harcourt a situation he said has called for urgent concern.

“I believe that the government is tired of making promises without fulfilling them, even the entertainment and other business sectors are tired of the Lagos, Port Harcourt dichotomy.

“We are tired of the narrative that Port Harcourt is unsafe for business and leisure.

“I have been in the state long enough to feel the pulse of the people; Rivers people are tired of the level of redundancy going on in the production economy,” he added.

China however, commended the governor, Mr Siminialayi Fubara for his willingness to drive a productive economy through public private sector collaboration.

“I believe if we are allowed to talk to the governor on this matter, he will tell us that he is tired of politicking and politics.

“The governor is eager to add value to the state, he is eager to deliver democracy dividends to the people,” he said.
