In Maitama, Wuse, Gwarimpa, Wuye and Kubwa areas of Abuja reports that most filling stations are shut down and the few ones selling the commodity has long queues.

Some residents of the capital city complained that the scarcity would likely affect the economy, as most businesses are incapacitated.

Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah, a businessman said the removal of the fuel subsidy with no proper plans on ground has affected the oil and gas sector.

“ The dollar keeps going high and it makes it difficult for the importers and the marketers to buy, this is because they need to sell as they buy to make their profit.

“ If the government is not ready to make a lasting policy they should bring back the subsidy as a lot of citizens are suffering.” Isah said.

A civil servant, Mr Umar Umar, said he has been in the filling station for a long time and was yet to get fuel.

“ We know it’s not the government’s making but the government should work on the roadmap to avoid any further problem.

A taxi driver, Olusegun Ade said that things are so complicated now, as they are battling with high cost of petrol and scarcity.

“ I run at a loss now, this is because I buy at a high cost and if I increase the transportation passenger will not enter my car.

“ My family depended on my daily returns and it has not been easy meeting up.

“ I am begging our president to do something quickly to reduce the hardship the citizens are going through as it’s not easy for a lot of us please,” Ade said.
