The Lagos State Government is set to join the league of rice producers as it intensifies efforts to commence production in 2020.
The state has set up a rice mill in Imota, a suburb in Lagos.
The mill has a production capacity of 32,000 tonnes per hour.
The Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Gbolahan Lawal, said the state-owned firm will create 250, 000 direct and indirect jobs.
It has 32 metric-tonnes capacity mill to produce 2.4 million/50kg bags annually.
