A copy of the invitation letter sent to Ibrahim and dated Sept. 9 was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Okitipupa, Ondo State.

The letter was jointly signed by Registration Officers of World Bank and IMF, Erin Wattaker and Thomas Bonaker respectively.

“We are pleased to inform you that you have been registered to attend the 2022 annual meetings and other related ancillary meetings of the World Bank Group and IMF, which will take place in Washington, D.C. from October 10 – October 16, 2022,” the letter read.

Ibrahim, the APC candidate for Ondo South Senatorial District in next year’s general elections, was invited to the meeting in his capacity as a globally-recognised scholar, business tycoon, investment entrepreneur and tax expert.

Ibrahim was recently honoured with a Doctor of Business Administration degree from University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, the first individual to be so honoured in its 800 years of existence.
