Abuja, Nov. 14, 2023: Dr Betta Edu, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, says the Saudi Arabian investment in Nigeria is capable of lifting millions of our citizens out of Poverty.

Edu said such investment would be in addition to jobs creation and tackling multi-dimensional poverty and humanitarian crises.

The Minister in a statement by her Media aide Mr Rasheed Zubair, on Monday in Abuja, said, the renewed interest of the Saudi government and its Investors to invest in the country will further deepens economic ties of the two countries.
She who was speaking on the sidelines of the Saudi-Africa Investment Summit in Riyadh, said Nigeria was poised to end multi-dimensional poverty by the year 2030.

She said, the opportunity provided by the Saudi-Africa Summit was in line with the poverty Alleviation and Job creation agenda of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.

She explained that the Tinubu Administration is determination to reduce poverty and other humanitarian issues facing Nigeria.

According to her, the federal government’s efforts in these directions is receiving global acceptability as witnessed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

”The latest deal from Saudi Government to the Ministry was the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre which has promised to partner with Nigeria in Humanitarian and poverty alleviation cluster of the federal government” she said.
