WYC, managers of National Youth Development Centre (NYDC), Odi, said on Tuesday that the indigenous oil and gas firm, under the leadership of Mr Pascal Anyanwu, had consistently demonstrated commitment to creating job opportunities for youths in Niger Delta.

The Secretary of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of WYC, Mr Preye Ketebu-Brown, made this known while announcing Alphaden Energy and Oilfield Ltd. as WYC’s 2023 Youth Development Champion in the private sector in Bayelsa.

The announcement is contained in statement he issued in Yenagoa.

He said: “Through ongoing operations and planned injection of up to $200 million in the gas sector of Bayelsa State, Alphaden Energy and Oilfield Limited continues to demonstrate sincere commitment to creating jobs for youths of Bayelsa State.

“The investment is promoting socio-economic growth and development in the state and the entire Niger-Delta region.”

He said that the company had remained exemplary in the promotion of Project 100 Companies goal of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Ketebu-Brown said that WYC was aware that the NCDMB project was aimed at identifying and recognising indigenous oil and gas companies with proven capacity to enhance job creation and local technology development.

He said that the commitment of Alphaden Energy and Oilfield to gas production had added impetus to Nigeria’s pledge to end gas flaring by year 2030.

Ketebu-Brown said that Anyanwu and Alphaden Energy and Oilfield Ltd.would be honoured by the Chairman of WYC BoT, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, in Yenagoa at a date to be announced soon.
