NDLEA uncovers large consignment of drugs


More than 10,522 kilograms of compressed cannabis sativa also known as “Indian hemp’’ concealed in a warehouse in Maiduguri have been uncovered by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Borno State Command.

The Chairman of NDLEA, Col. Muhammad Abdallah (Rtd), said in a statement issued by Head of Public affairs Mr Jonah Achema, on Feburary 10, 2020.

He reported that one suspect was arrested in connection with the drugs contained in 183 large bags.

He also said that the warehouse, located at Ungwan Doki, Maigadari Ward, adjacent to Borno State Environmental Protection Agency, was a three-bedroom and three-room boys’ quarters.

The suspect, Modu Fanami, lives in the compound with his wife and two children.

“Fanami admitted that he served as the errand boy to one Uche (now at large) who is the real owner of the drug business.
