Abuja, December 5, 2021 (NIGERIA): Six months after the death of Prophet T.B Joshua, the founder of popular Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), physical service kicked off on Sunday with the wife of the deceased, Evelyn presiding.

Aside the death of T. B Joshua, Covid-19 pandemic had caused the church closure for close to 21 months but activities peaked on December 5, 2021 as the new leadership, Prophetess Evelyn TB Joshua, maintained the position of her late husband.

Worshippers trooped in for services at the headquarters of the church located at the Ikotun Egbe, Lagos, swelling the crowd to unprecedented level as statistics put the number of worshippers at 11,000 occupying the sprawling auditorium.

Maverick T. B Joshua died on June 5, 2021 and his wife succeeded him after surpassing some rancour posed by some elders, but the church remained under lock until the divine spirit directed the re-opening of the Church.

Aside the Church, life and social and commercials activities returned Ikotun-Egbe, the area where wherd the headquarters of the Church is located in Lagos.

The emergence of Evelyn as the new head of the church shoved her into limelight as little was known about her before now but she now enjoys the support of the majority of the church’s stakeholders.

Evelyn born in 1968, addressed the Church, and  noted that the journey had not been easy since the demise of her late husband and called for support and prayers from members and followers to ensure that the church continues from where TB Joshua stopped.

“Emmanuel! God is with us. My name is Evelyn Joshua, I am pleased to address you at this moment upon my appointment as the lease of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

“These past months have surely been challenging but we thank you all for being strong and for keeping the faith as we have been trained and instructed by the servant of God that trials are the soil upon which faith flourishes.

“We have now commenced the journey from where our father left. He had already prepared us all for this new phase and we must rise up to the occasion as a team under the command of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit.’’

The death of T. B. Joshua caused a rancour among the elders and elders of the Church but it explained how some people wanted to run the Church aground, due to their inordinate desires.

Elder Kayode Emmanuel issued a statement on June 17, 2021 in Lagos in which he said he was putting the record straight some elders made themselves heirs of the spiritual and estates of the world renowned Prophet against the legitimate heirs in his wife, and her three biological children, Sarah, Promise and Heart.

“Unilaterally they constituted themselves into the apex council for the church and appointed within themselves a new General Overseer and Mommy against the convention of the Church.

“Far beyond this they also established the Governing Council for the church in which all positions are shared within themselves with no member of TB Joshua’s family or any other church member on board.

“Ironically, these are mere TB Joshua’s workers who are not even qualified to be called church members because by the Church’s Constitution for you to be recognised as a church member you must also be a financial member. This is a critical factor for membership which none of them has.

“Disenchanted church members see their action as spiritual coup d’état or a kind opportunistic spiritual gangsterism that is antithetical and inimical in the sanctuary.

“Right from the moment of TB Joshua’s departure, they translated themselves into extraordinary uncontrollable authority and power with enormous and reckless freedom.’’

It noted that Church elders and entire visiting members were dumbfounded. They reasoned that things should not be allowed to continue in this way for the future of the church as church members became worried.

Mrs Evelyn TB. Joshua was forced to rise up to the challenges of preserving and strengthening the good legacy left behind by her husband by the unholy circumstances.
